About me- Nandeesh Kumar A S
Hi, I’m Nandeesh Kumar A S, and this is my journey from an Aeronautical engineer to designing meaningful digital experiences.
Growing up in a defence family meant constant moves, new cultures, and fresh perspectives. Every posting introduced me to new people and ideas, shaping my curiosity about understanding diverse mindsets — a curiosity that ultimately led me to the world of design.
After high school, I chose Aeronautical Engineering because the science of flight fascinated me, but my heart always veered toward creative pursuits. College gave me the chance to explore theatrics, dance, and art, and I found myself most energized by those moments of expression and creativity.
Before committing to UI/UX design, I considered everything from joining the Armed Forces to preparing for the UPSC, even contemplating an MBA and testing the waters in IT. But design felt right — it allowed me to blend creativity with practical problem-solving to make an impact on users’ lives. It’s a field that challenges me to think beyond aesthetics and dive into user psychology, experience, and real-world applications.
Today, with over 3 years at Jio Platforms Limited, I work in SOI Operations on design and support for Jio’s products, having started in AiCoE and building everything from component repositories to user-centric interfaces for AI-integrated apps. My role allows me to leverage my skills in design strategy, component testing, and community engagement, while connecting with cross-functional teams to create solutions that are as functional as they are visually engaging.
Outside of work, I’m a painter, dancer, and sports enthusiast, with a love for cooking and a passion for anime for its rich storytelling. I draw creative inspiration from everything I do, and I’m excited to share insights on design, creativity, and innovation through my writing.
